When setting up a monitoring infrastructure for ambient conditions that is as seamless as possible, maximum flexibility is required in the choice of sensors and the underlying technology. All too quickly, the costs for installation and cabling can get out of hand to an undesirable extent. A remedy is provided by IOT modules for modern wide-range radio networks, which can be used almost autonomously. Together with VBASE, we use such LoRaWAN sensors for monitoring temperature and humidity in BMS projects.
In our application report, we describe how environmental monitoring was implemented in a VBASE BMS with corresponding IOT hardware in a logistics operation where, among other things, pharmaceutical products as well as products in different temperature zones are stored.
